What You Will Do:
- Lead project management and process design for new water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, review existing water/wastewater treatment facilities, prepare reports for proposed equipment/systems upgrades and replacements, and present your findings to clients and regulatory agencies
- Conduct business development and develop client relationships in the water/wastewater industry
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply various treatment technologies, equipment, and processes to optimize performance or ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and apply the results to water/wastewater treatment plant configurations
- Develop specifications and drawings such as process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for senior drafting technicians
- Assess the impact of changing DOH, EPA and MPCA regulations for specific client needs
- Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews, field verification of designs, proposal presentations, and business development activities
- All aspects of multi-discipline projects and clients from the proposal process to project closeout.
- You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities including client meetings, public meetings, and public involvement events so that projects move forward within the prescribed time frames and budgets.
- You will anticipate client needs, biases, and preferences and tailor communication and work output accordingly.
- You will lead, coordinate and delegate work to multiple work teams working in multiple locations.
- You will work directly with water/wastewater client staff and/or other consulting firms to deliver CIP programs and or projects, potentially on-site in a staff augmentation setting.
- Formulate, track and meet program and project budgets and schedules.
- Maintain open and effective communication with clients as well as internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare or coordinate preparation of project / client correspondence and documentation.
- You will participate in and lead business development activities to new and existing clients through the following activities: plans, leads and participates in client meetings and networking events.
- Develops new client contacts and relationships in all areas of expertise.
- Understanding of alternative funding sources for municipal projects, and ability to secure funding.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering in areas such as evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, wastewater conveyance and water distribution systems.
- A minimum of 3 years of water or wastewater engineering project management experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- A current PE license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work at a variety of locations
