The Private Banking Middle Office Manager will function as the center-point for process improvement and problem resolution between Private Banking and other internal lines of business. This role is pivotal in representing Private Banking to other operational areas of the company. The incumbent will increase the operational effectiveness of Private Banking by leading process improvement throughout the department and ensuring process improvement initiatives are effectively communicated and implemented across Private Banking.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design or lead the design of process to improve processes and efficiency across Private Banking.
- Work directly with Relationship Management, Portfolio Management and Portfolio Administration teams (and various other internal teams) to implement process improvements.
- Support the onboarding of, and processes related to, new consumer loan and deposit relationships, client experience, and post acceptance processes.
- Support adoption and ongoing support of client facing portal, as well as business line reporting and process improvements across CRM.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for issues originating in Private Banking that need investigation or action.
- Create and manage priority lists for improvements, including sizing the complexity and benefit of a given project, and its relative priority.
- Work or lead projects impacting Private Banking from time to time, whether system upgrades or conversions.
- Maintain, revise and update Private Banking procedures annually or as needed.
- Help colleagues implement changes by explaining when and why a change will take place.
- Advocate for high quality business practices for efficiency and safeness.
- Teach, mentor, and support colleagues in addressing issues.
- Model collaborative, respectful, and business-first behavior, always considering the needs of various business stakeholders while developing solutions, determining who and what will be impacted.
- Ensure business continuity.
- Exhibit good judgment about the escalation of issues to Senior Management.
- Be aware of and report all known errors, ensuring incident reports are completed by team members in a timely manner when an error is made.
- Ensure all Private Banking associates have the tools, training, and technology to perform their job duties in the most efficient and effective manner, keeping high quality client service at the forefront of every decision.
- Manage multiple time sensitive tasks simultaneously for both internal and external clients. Ensure tasks assigned to colleagues are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a business-related major is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in applications management, process management, organizational development, and change implementation.
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of all operating systems used by Private Banking, particularly the core banking system(s).
- Must have the ability to effect change and bring various teams together in pursuit of a common goal is of paramount importance.
- Must have full knowledge of core Microsoft Office products suite.
- Must have ability to multitask.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must exhibit initiative, leadership, and the ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently and with little supervision.
- Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
