What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Legacy & Fulfillment Operations Supervisor position at WSI Standard?
The mission of the WSI Supervisor is to assist the Facility Manager with ensuring that basic materials, equipment, and supplies are provided, customer inventory is accurate, and that general warehouse training is complete, in order to safely fulfill WSI’s mission of meeting customer service expectations on the shipment and receipt of finished product for legacy and fulfillment accounts. The primary task of the Warehouse Operations Supervisor is to oversee Inventory, WSI Employees, and Leads, to ensure training and safety requirements are up to date.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversees/assists in maintaining, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, by coordinating/enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies/procedures.
- Keeps a close eye on day-to-day operations of the Chemical Accounts
- Reviews WSI employee scheduling and break times
- Leads Performance Management & Progression (including documentation)
- Ensures teams are sharing and planning their days effectively (CCT)
- Checks on Lean processes
- Maintains communication with the warehouse employees by working with, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as necessary
- Confirms and sustains all documentation and returns to the correct destination for safety related documents and training required for each employee and the area covered
- Ensures warehouse operational requirements are complete by checking on the schedules and specific assignments of employees, and following up on work results as needed
- Customer facing for direct issue resolution
- Helps to maintain warehouse staffing by assisting in the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of candidates as needed
- Assists the Leads in the growth of their decision-making abilities & forecasting
- Review weekly financial questions with them (document issues)
- Check on auditing processes and holding Leads accountable
- Oversees Inventory Cycle Counts and Physical Inventories of customer product
- Ensures all customer KPIs are completed
- Reviews with Management, Leads and team
- Ensures lift truck blow-outs are kept up to date and forklift check-ins are occurring correctly
- Works with management on keeping warehouse up to code, including looking at safety codes, new warehouse/design layout and procedures
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing material handling, shipping requirements, and regulatory ordinances, by following protocols and SOPs, and stays current on Responsible Care activities, advising upper management on needed actions
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by monitoring security procedures and protocols, and working with modifications
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing other WSI facility methods, and keeping up to date on safety and operational changes
- Cultivates and helps to build the LEAN culture as WSI begins the journey through process improvements and measurements
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Crosstrain to cover the direct supervision for MLS EEs when the other Supervisor is out

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must pass pre-employment & randomly administered drug tests
- Must pass background check
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds
- Able to drive and show competency on all forklifts
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to sort paper, answer phone calls and handle products
