What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Supervisor – Weekend Shift position at WSI?
Weekend Shift- Friday-Sunday 5am- 6:30pm
The Supervisor will be responsible for the floor operations, employee training (i.e. safety and operating SOP). Under appropriate supervision with latitude for independent judgment, performs a variety of assignments, both technical and clerical, including material receipt, inspections, storage and shipping. The Supervisor is also responsible for implementing, coordinating and assisting in the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out a sequence of related warehousing functions and responsibilities. Duties require manual, clerical and data entry skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand, implement and support completion of the daily plan
- Assist or lead pre-shift meetings
- Assign and delegate work as required to complete job assignments
- Provide necessary PPE, equipment and tools to complete work
- Conduct employee performance reviews and follow up on progress
- Act as backup to the Operations Manager during their absence
- Collect and communicate performance data
- Investigate and sign off on exceptions to the picking process
- Control work documents
- Authorize time cards
- Generate shift reports
- Recognize excellence
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment
- Perform process walks
- Schedule put away material for returns
- Check special requirements loads when required
- Verify picking accuracy of all material handlers
- Other duties assigned by the Operations / Site Manager
