What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Fitness Assistant position at WSL East Side OP LLC?
JOB PURPOSE: The Fitness and Program Assistant is responsible for coordinating programming that is unique and responsive to the community's residents. This position will serve as liaison between Wingate and outside vendors to help promote and organize an assortment of interactive offerings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Can develop and lead educational workshops to enhance the wellbeing of the residents.
- Encouraging participation in group exercise and teaching select classes.
- Assist in orienting new residents and fostering relationships with co-workers, families and the community. Promotes all facility programs/activities by discussing other department areas that may assist members with a total facility experience. Must keep current with facility calendar
- - programs, events and activities.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge about exercise, health, and fitness by remaining current with trends in the industry.
- Assists with influencing our team of service providers to meet all aspects of professionalism and service demands.
- Creates and implements an annual marketing and programming plan to promote all activities and encourage member participation and utilization.
- Develops member participation and recruitment plans; outlining in detail all promotions, fitness programs, and any expenditures.
- Ensures facility is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times.
- Develops and plans a diverse calendar of enjoyable resident programs and activities such as: sports clubs, life enrichment classes, special events, social events, resident concierge services, and spa or personal care services.
- Monitors and tracks resident utilization and program registrations/participation by establishing a tracking procedure. Ensures all guest fees are correctly charged (if applicable).
- Designs, with the use of templates, forms, flyers, and promotional materials to be utilized in daily facility operations.
- Reviews and discusses any client suggestions with the Aqua Spa and Fitness Director.
- Prepares bulletins and flyers for display on bulletin board, intranet, cable, and for a possible activities newsletter.
- Assists in maintaining monthly inventory of supplies and equipment (towels, amenities, etc.).
- Attend in-services and training meeting completion requirements timely.
- Builds sales relationships with other associations.
- Applies "5 Star" customer service approach in all aspects of job.
- Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
- Actively supports Wingate's commitment to providing "5 Star" service on all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree in Recreation or another related field preferred.
- Certification from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, and NSPA preferred.
- Experience with elder care preferred.
- Prior experience as a Lifeguard preferred.
- Experience programming events required.
- Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic
- Proficient in appropriate computer skills and office equipment
- Must be able to safely lift at least 45-pounds at once.
