WSP is currently initiating a search for On-Call Emergency Managers to work out of our offices in California, Arizona, Alabama or Missouri to include Tucson, AZ; Irvine, CA; Roseville, CA; Birmingham, AL or St. Louis, MO. Be involved in projects with our Federal Programs Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
We are seeking individuals who are eager to assist during disasters on an on-call basis as a reservist employee, with the availability to deploy with little or no advance notice and for potentially long durations. This is not a full-time position.

Your Impact
- Lead Emergency Management team, providing services to clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide and in US territories.
- Manage Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post-disaster.
- Lead and perform oversight of on-site duties including logistics, supply, cost/documentation and/or resource unit functions.
- Attend periodic training throughout the year to maintain deployment eligibility.
- Support Emergency Management Project Management functions.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or similar/related concentration, or equivalent.
- 5 years in an Emergency Management role (Response, Recovery or related), or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
- FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification.
- Travel Required - Must be able to deploy to disaster area, with little or no advance notice and potentially for long durations.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Emergency Management (or related field).
- 5 years of cumulative safety experience, within the last ten years, managing or implementing a SOH program on projects similar in industry type, size, and complexity as the project described in the contract scope of work.
- 24 hours of documented formal classroom or online SOH-related training within the past five years and must maintain competency by taking 24 hours every three-year period for the duration of the contract.
- FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification (IS-100/102/200/700/800/815).
- Asset Management and Supply Logistical Operational Experience. Previous experience managing Field Staging Areas or state Emergency Operations Center or related environment.
Compensation and Benefits
Expected Hourly Rate Regardless of Location - $35 -45/hour.
