WSP is currently initiating a search for a Survey Party Chief for our Troy, NY office. Be involved in projects with our Survey/Geospatial Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Candidate can expect to be a leading role in the field for work on a wide variety of projects including transportation, environmental, water/wastewater, commercial, residential, solid waste, and energy. From rural areas to urban areas.
- Perform boundary & topographic surveys; engineering design surveys; GPS surveys
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
- Experience drafting in CAD
- Training other field staff as needed
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior surveying experience with easements, rights of way, plats, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, property descriptions, and GPS surveys.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- High School diploma or GED
- General efficiency in Auto CAD/ MicroStation - capable of downloading and editing field data
- General awareness of land survey principles, practices, process, methods and techniques
- Experience with robotic total station is a plus.
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening
- Proficiency with survey equipment
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
- Must possess a willingness to learn
- Must be willing to work in all environments (rural, suburbs, city, etc.)
- Ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.

Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $60,700 - $104,170
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may offer additional benefits and compensation, depending on circumstances and the type of work being performed not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
