The US IT Business Partner and Digital Transformation Advisor is a pivotal leadership role within the WSP’s global IT organization. The position carries the dual responsibility of overseeing Business Relationship Management activities for the region and supporting the digital transformation efforts. The US IT Business Partner and Digital Transformation Advisor acts as the key spokesperson for IT in the US, working to align technology solutions to business needs, helping craft and execute internal digital transformation activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business, and working collaboratively with other digital leaders to help ideate and prioritize revenue-producing digital solutions.
Leadership & decision-making responsibilities
- Foster strong relationships with regional business stakeholders, including senior executives, and capture their evolving needs and strategic objectives.
- Partner closely with business leaders to align IT initiatives with the region's business. objectives, ensuring that IT contributes to the region's success.
- Collaborate with service hub and enterprise IT stakeholders and to ensure fulfillment of business needs, and adoption of global solutions and standards in the most cost-effective way possible.
- Partner with IT and business leadership to define strategic objectives and secure necessary financing for technology investments.
- Provide guidance on digital transformation and the appropriate application of AI.
- Work with all appropriate stakeholders to craft an internal digital transformation strategy and roadmap.
- Partner with the enterprise IT function to establish and maintain transparent financial reporting.
- Strengthen valuable relationships between IT and business stakeholders.
- Ensure efficient daily IT service delivery of the regional IT unit with high quality and good performance.
- Oversee the general direction of regional projects and plans.
- Ensure continuous identification and mitigation of risks, as well as the development of business continuity plans for critical IT services.
- Manage and develop the regional IT function's staff and performance.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and best practices in both technology and the digital AEC space and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and create value for the organization.

- Develop and lead unit employees by monitoring individual performance, ensuring individual development plans, providing mentorship, and leading the recruitment process with appropriate onboarding.
- Adhere to company policies, including conducting systematic occupational health and safety work, reporting and taking prompt corrective action on risks, logging and reporting long term actions, and participating in department-wide talent management and succession planning.
- Ability to communicate to both operations-oriented employees and business executives, as well as employees across business regions and enterprise functions.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including internal customers, suppliers, and partners, to ensure effective collaboration and alignment.
- Foster a culture of effective communication within the IT organization to engage and inform employees.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote the organization's use of technology and position it as an industry leader.
- Standardize IT policies, procedures, and documentation across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business management, or a related field. (or equivalent experience).
- 17 years of relevant post education experience within Information Technology or a similar field.
- Experience in the A/E/C or IT industry.
- Developed analytical and organizational skills with business acumen to bridge businesses together.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to job-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on job-specific requirements.
