We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our central accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, with proven experience in managing complex financial systems, coordinating with multiple office locations, and preparing consolidated financial reports.

Job Title: Assistant Controller
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our central accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, with proven experience in managing complex financial systems, coordinating with multiple office locations, and preparing consolidated financial reports.
What You Will Do
- Financial Reporting and Consolidation:
- Assist the Controller in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the organization’s multiple entities
- Coordinate with multiple offices and departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting and consolidation
- Help develop and implement improvements in the financial close process, including internal controls and efficiencies
- Ensure proper recording of intercompany transactions and eliminations for consolidated reporting
- Support the preparation of tax filings and audits, collaborating with external auditors as needed
- Team Coordination and Training:
- Provide support and guidance to accounting staff and team members across departments and office locations as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and ensure alignment with overall business strategies
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experiences, with at least 2 years in an assistant controller or supervisor role
- Experience in preparing complex consolidated financial statements and managing complex financial systems for multi-entity organizations with inter-company transactions and eliminations
- Proficient in accounting software, with experience in consolidating financial data across different platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior management, including Controllers, CFOs, Owners, Banks, and cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, financial modeling, etc.)
- Experience with Sage Intaact, Quickbooks, Thompson Reuters, CCH is highly desirable
- Experience with professional services (accounting, legal, marketing, consultants, etc.)
- Experience with acquisitions, accounting for business combinations, and opening balance sheets
- CPA preferred but not required
