LEAD MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
WTB is seeking an experienced, strong work ethics and goal-oriented Lead Mechanical Technician in Midland, Texas for our in-house Mechanic Shop
WTB Spray is a leading provider of spray applied Polyurea Elastomers, Polyurethane Foam, Oilfield battery containment, environmental spill control system, Flowline Safety Restraints and other Oilfield rental equipment such as Shower trailers, Trash trailers, Light tower etc.
Job Objectives
To supervise WTB fleet repair services; provide skilled mechanical work in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems on diesel power-driven vehicles and equipment; to schedule daily work priorities, maintain inventory and records for mechanic shop; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of technical assigned staff.
· Exercises direct supervision over shop mechanics and hands.
· Create and maintain service and maintenance schedules for WTB vehicle fleet and equipment; schedule appointments with departments and outside agencies for vehicle service, determine and coordinate daily work priorities for shop.
· Generate computerized repair orders and track progress through completion; ensure repair orders in shop are complete and accurate.
· Perform skilled mechanic duties including troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel powered automotive, heavy and light construction and other power-driven equipment.
· Inspect, diagnose, repair and adjust a variety of systems on light and heavy equipment, trailers and vehicles
· Inspect motorized and mechanical equipment; diagnose problems and determine extent of necessary repairs; perform routine preventive maintenance.
· Perform safety inspections, registration on all WTB vehicles, equipment and ensure all repairs have been completed.
· Maintain inventory and records for mechanic workshop as well as keeping a written work history on each vehicle
· Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Skills and Requirements:
· Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
· Ability to pass Drug Test
· Leadership in operations, services and activities of a fleet maintenance and repair program.
· Principles of supervision, training, reviewing and performance evaluation.
· Methods and techniques of performing preventive maintenance as well as performing diagnostic troubleshooting services.
· Methods and techniques of metal fabrication and welding.
· Knowledge of DOT to ensure compliance to Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations.
· Perform mechanic work in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing the full range of vehicles, equipment and components.
· Perform service calls on job sites to perform minor repairs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
