JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a self-motivated, dedicated individual who likes working in a fast-paced environment. Traffic Manager will oversee and coordinate traffic operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and equipment while maintaining compliance with all regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of heavy equipment operation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Administrative/ Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage activities of scale master and truck dispatcher.
1. Ensure that all truck deliveries and shipments are weighed accurately and that the accompanying paperwork is accurate. Oversee and verify that scale tickets and inspection reports are distributed to the financial and commercial personnel in a timely fashion.
2. Maintain successful communication with scale master regarding all pick-up and delivery matters with particular emphasis on pick-up and delivery schedule changes that occur throughout the course of the business day.
3. Cover scale when scale master is off due to time off, call outs, etc.
4. Manage Scale Masters successful performance regarding matters that include, but are not limited to…
a. Commercial dealings with customers.
b. Interchange with yard and production personnel.
c. Relationships with truckers and trucking company personnel.
d. IT proficiency.
e. Supervisory skills regarding direction of inbound truck loads to various positions at facility (i.e. shredder, ferrous yard locations, non-ferrous department).
f. Neatness and orderliness of scale room office. Ultimate responsibility for accessibility of records on computer and in filing cabinets.
g. Ensure that scale master dresses appropriately (business casual or company uniform) and maintains professional decorum.
Consistently and systematically communicate to appropriate commercial and senior management personnel in writing or at weekly production meeting regarding matters that include, but are not limited to…
1. Timely updates regarding progress of meeting shipment schedules.
2. Timely updates regarding progress of filling roll-off truck pickup schedules (in writing or via IT daily).
3. Updates regarding truck or rail equipment availability (beginning of each month) in order to develop a successful sales program.
4. Availability of paperwork that is required to execute shipment activities (contract notes, bookings, COD payment confirmations).
5. Manage all required documents and permits regarding trucks and trailers.
6. Maintain training program for truck drivers, scale master and inspector.
7. Job performance progress developments regarding personnel training. Periodically report (in writing) about scale performance efficiency to the commercial and general manager.
Administer distribution and filing of regulatory documents as they pertain to receiving of materials (i.e. white goods contracts, auto shipper’s paperwork, mercury switch records).
Procure and maintain all necessary truck and trailer permits and licenses.
Oversee maintenance of equipment (scale, RadCom unit): Assume ultimate responsibility for scale cleaning and certification.
Enforce procedures for “hot” or radioactive loads.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
