What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Support Specialist Leader--Midwest position at WTW?
Midwest Business Support Specialist (“BSS”) colleagues support our consulting teams across Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, Ohio, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis as a hybrid employee. The Midwest Business Support Specialist Leader will work closely with Office Business Leaders (“OBLs”) and the Regional Business Leader (“RBL”) and the Business Support Specialist teams to identify colleague needs, optimize business support specialist utilization and career development opportunities.
The Role
As Midwest Business Support Specialist Leader, you will be responsible for working with Midwest BSS team in connection with the RBL and OBLs to set and achieve goals, manage workflow and identify career development opportunities. Specific activities and characteristics of the role include:
- Fostering a collaborative BSS work environment – drawing on diversity of skills to manage workflow and provide support to consulting offices
- People manager to a team of Business Support Specialists across the Midwest including goal setting, performance assessment and workflow management of team
- Acting as role model to other Business Support Specialists
- Optimizing and equalizing BSS utilization in coordination with OBLs
- Equalize by ensuring our Business Support Specialist’s workloads across the region are balanced
- Optimize by looking at value-added work for Business Support Specialists which can have an effect on the margins of our business
- Survey consulting office staff to understand BSS needs and opportunities
- Assess and map BSS staff skills and training needs
- Looking for ways for Business Support Specialists to support North America Retirement initiatives
- Advocating for the Business Support Specialists
- Develop expectations for colleague work requests (involve Business Support Specialists from the beginning of a project, lead time for a project, etc.)
- Give Business Support Specialists a voice as a group to leadership
- Discuss and foster career development
Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
