The Role
Risk & Compliance Officer
This ideal candidate will be responsible to support the Compliance, Risk & Technology Department in the timely completion of the compliance plan and the day-to-day compliance operations for the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
- Act as Data Protection Officer.
- Carry out screening and in-depth checks on potential customers by collecting and analyzing information relating to their identity, business activity and source of funds, etc.…
- Review existing customer profiles to identify possible suspicious activity, including unusual transactions and atypical sources of income.
- Compiling of data for all internal and external surveys.
- Submit regulatory returns to relevant authorities within specified deadlines.
- Prepare regular reports to senior management on AML and compliance matters.
- Conduct transaction monitoring activities in line with annual and ad-hoc plans.
- Carrying out of internal procedures review based on internal procedures manual
- Drafting & updating Procedures Manuals.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Minimum a degree holder or equivalent professional qualification
- At least 7 years of experience in compliance within the financial services sector, demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to work, both individually and as a team, under pressure to tight timelines and without direct supervision.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining excellent understanding of regulatory developments
- Fluent in English & French
