WTWH Media ( is seeking a motivated, experienced SENIOR EDITOR to cover home-based care news and developments for Home Health Care News (HHCN), the leading source of news, insights and analysis for industry executives.
The home healthcare industry was recently sized at about $100 billion and is anticipated to reach nearly $180 billion by 2032. It is one of the most dynamic sectors in U.S. health care, with demand for at-home care surging due to consumer preferences, the aging population, and efforts across the health care system to deliver services in the lowest-cost settings. HHCN covers all aspects of at-home care, including Medicare- certified home health care, private-pay home care, Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS), hospital-at-home models and more.
The HHCN Senior Editor will lead our coverage in a player-coach role, developing the publication’s editorial direction and managing a small team of reporters while also writing high-quality content, from breaking news stories to more enterprising pieces. To excel in this role, you must be a team player with strong organizational skills, an ability to juggle multiple projects, a knack for hunting down stories, and leadership skills to inspire a team and develop their potential.
The Senior Editor must be comfortable interviewing CEOs, startup founders, government officials, academics and other sources for stories, on podcasts and on stage while moderating HHCN events.
The Senior Editor plays a key role in programming and executing industry-leading virtual and live events that convene the most influential executives and thought leaders in the sector. Additionally, the Senior Editor assists on a limited basis with the production of custom content, including sponsored articles, white papers and thought-leadership series.
This is a unique opportunity to work with well-funded and dedicated entrepreneurs who are part of WTWH Media. We welcome remote workers with a proven track record of success, particularly those with relevant journalism experience in health care, at-home care or business reporting.
Requirements : What You Can Bring :
- Bachelor’s degree or better in journalism, English or a similar field is preferred
- Willing to travel to cover HHCN-relevant events throughout the year
- 5 years experience writing, reporting and / or editing required, with experience in health care or a related field preferred
- 1 year experience in management preferred
- Proven writing, reporting and editing skills, including strong news judgment and high quality standards
- Ability to interpret and analyze business concepts, industry trends and major news stories
- Ability to manage a small team of reporters, including generating and assigning stories, editing reporters’ work and leading the team’s project management
- Ability to build relationships with key sources and report on complex subjects, including relevant health care regulations and payment policies / frameworks
- Aptitude for being a visible leader who represents HHCN in public venues and works with our internal events team to drive success of HHCN events
- Strong digital news knowledge, including ability to make data-driven editorial decisions rooted in key metrics on story performance
- Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn and work with multiple software tools and platforms
- Deadline-oriented time management skills, with the ability to turn around stories on tight deadlines and in multiple formats
- Consistent positivity and curiosity, and a sense of urgency to set and meet goals while maintaining journalistic integrity
