JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Machinist works in the Department and is a skilled Machine Operator who has a thorough understanding of the entire manufacturing process from start to finish. Responsibilities and job duties include:
- Operating CNC Mills, Lathes, as assigned, to manufacture parts to required specifications
- Inspecting completed work to ensure accuracy to the required specifications and completing assigned inspection and job traveler paperwork
- Set-up machines, programming of machines, tool selections, and identification and implementation of improvements to the manufacturing processes
- Supervising and assisting with the maintenance of machines
- Ensuring finished parts move to the next operation upon completion
- Informing supervisor of any problems or improvements of the manufacturing process
- Maintain good housekeeping practices including cleaning work area and inspection equipment
- Other tasks as assigned
JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- CNC Programming preferred
- Advanced math skills and blueprint reading
- Thorough understanding of machine program and ability to make tool offsets
- Must be able to stand at least 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds
- Possession of personal basic hand tools is preferred
- Mazak mazatroll EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED
