Wunderlich Malec is in the process of opening a new 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Baldwin, FL (a suburb of Jacksonville, FL). This facility will primarily focus on manufacturing and fabricating electrical control panels and modular buildings for the electric utility and industrial electrical markets as an extension of our successful Winslow, ME facility, which has been in operation since 2004.
The Fabrication Supervisor leads and manages a team of electrical and mechanical fabrication technicians in the assembly and wiring of electrical panels and e-houses. This critical role ensures the highest quality and safety standards while maintaining efficient production processes. The Fabrication Supervisor must have a deep understanding of complex electrical and mechanical systems, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of electrical technicians in the fabrication, installation, wiring, and assembly of electrical panels and e-houses. Oversee and ensure the quality of work, ensuring all electrical installations meet company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations
- Collaborate with the Technical Services Lead and Project Managers to understand project scope and translate it into actionable tasks for the electrical team
- Ensure safety procedures and best practices are followed during electrical installations and maintenance activities
- Monitor work progress, troubleshoot issues, and resolve conflicts to keep projects on schedule
- Manage material inventory and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, providing training and mentoring to junior electrical technicians
- Maintain a proactive approach to quality control and problem resolution throughout the production
- Mechanical Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of mechanical technicians in the fabrication of modular control buildings, including installation of frames, walls, roofs, etc
- Supervise installation of electrical gear, installing cable tray, and providing mechanical support to optimize e-house production
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly, demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and urgency to keep production on track
- Oversee and support the use of heavy mechanical tools (e.g., saws, come-alongs, welding equipment, overhead cranes, shear, band saw, ironworker, forklifts, etc.) to ensure proper installation and assembly
- Ensure safety standards are met, promoting a safe working environment for all team members
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion
- Maintain accurate records of mechanical tasks, materials used, and any issues encountered during the construction process
- At least 8-10 years of experience as an electrical and/or mechanical technician, preferably in a supervisory role, such as, facility Maintenance Manager, with a strong background in complex electrical systems
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Deep knowledge of electrical materials, including conduits, cables, grounding systems, and other key components
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to address challenges and issues efficiently
- Master electrician certification or equivalent
- Certified welding experience preferred, but not required
- Knowledge and experience with fire alarm systems is a plus
- Experience working in electrical panel manufacturing or industrial electrical systems
- Familiarity with NFPA70 or NEC standards and regulations is highly preferred
