JOB SUMMARY:
Manages quality related topics with focus on customer quality and design quality.
Is the first and main point of contact for quality related topics and ensure an efficient and effective communication with the requestors, the technical departments, and the supporting functions. Promote the correct use of preventive quality tools. Support with QMS activities whenever needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of customer requests and customer claims:
• Assists in investigating quality complaints or discrepancies raised by customers or suppliers, coordinates needed activities till case resolution and leads the communication.
• Keeps record of defined CAPAs and follows the status of implementation. Ensure that lessons learned meetings are conducted and, when needed, moderates them. Performs audits on received 8Ds and ensure continual improvement of 8D content.
• When needed conduct the preliminary failure analysis using or coordinating internal labs or other internal or external resources.
• Reports statistics on received claims and their status.
Management of pre-sale customer requests:
• Ensure the customer requests are addressed to the concerned points of contacts and ensure that the customer receives the required feedback according to the agreed timeline.
Quality management in projects:
• Participates in NPI meetings, ensuring that planned deliverables are in place.
• Support Design Engineers in design risk assessments (System-FMEA, Design-FMEA)
• Identify and highlight risks. When needed, moderates risk assessment and preparation of risk mitigation actions.
• Ensures the correct use of APQP and quality tools as FMEA, control plans, MSA, SPC.
• Approve and oversee design validation performance and reliability testing (DVP&R).
• Implement best practices in Design for Reliability (DfR).
• Support customer complaints related to design defects and transfer lessons learned from past complaints resolution.
• Bridge the communication between design engineers and quality in the factories.
• Ensure that product, process, and project documentation is always properly stored in the system.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes.
Other duties as assigned:
• Might be asked to support the QMS (Quality Management System), CI (continual improvement), RA (Risk Assessment) teams with activities in the region.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in managing, project and/or quality engineering, preferably in the consumer electronics market, working with Asian based manufacturers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, identifying and addressing problems, and meeting deadlines.
• Experience in cross regional and cross department teams leadership
• Experience in regular reporting to management
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology or other relevant field of study (or equivalent experience.)
KNOWLEDGE:
• Total Quality Management – Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, Production Quality, Design Quality.
• Quality Management System – ISO9001, IATF 16949, ISO14001, ISO45001, RBA, VDA 6.3
• Quality Tools – APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA 8D
• Continuous improvement: 6Sigma, lean, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA
