What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Wurth Group of North America Inc.?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confirm the accuracy of the records and deposits as they pertain to tax reporting and preparation of sales tax, use tax, and property taxes.
- Assist in the preparation and reporting of corporate records as required by our external tax preparers.
- Conduct research on tax compliance issues.
- Stay up to date with changing tax codes and accounting laws.
- Manage and meet reporting deadlines.
- Prepare, process, and maintain paperwork related to business licenses.
- Prepare and submit 1099s annually.
- File annual reports.
- Manage communication with local municipalities.
- Participate in month-end closing, mainly payroll, cash and prepaids
- Oversee and maintain the accuracy of related GL accounts and prepare monthly reconciliations.
- Maintain all the bank recons and work closely with Financial Services to resolve any issues
- Other tasks as assigned by the controller.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting methods, tax law, and audits.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Expertise with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to solve problems using critical thinking to offer alternative solutions when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Proven track record as a tax specialist or analyst.
- Legal or accounting background.
- Proficiency with DMSi Agility and Avalara.
- Experience with eCommerce taxation.
