Essential Job Functions
Perform routine maintenance on black utilities, clean utilities, and related equipment, including safety valves, regulators, steam traps, and automatic control mechanisms. Adhere to all safety policies and regulations. Follow job plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Comply with state regulations regarding boiler operation, safety, and repair. Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment throughout the facility. Operate general manufacturing equipment effectively and safely. Be proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments daily. Operate natural gas fired boilers to generate steam for buildings or industrial processes. Monitor boiler and chill water system operation readings from meters, micro-processors, pressure gauges, thermometers, and flow charts for monthly reports. Perform maintenance activities required by law, such as boiler preparation for annual inspections. Troubleshoot utility systems during unplanned shutdowns to minimize equipment downtime. Collaborate with the maintenance team on utility-related tasks. Maintain a clean utility room environment.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in large steam boiler and refrigeration equipment maintenance. Black seal high pressure license is required. High school diploma or equivalent is necessary. A 3rd Class refrigeration license is a plus.
