General Description
The Clinical Application Specialist (CAS) analyzes healthcare data and optimizes the delivery of healthcare services in collaboration with healthcare providers. They gather pertinent healthcare data, develop effective information systems and procedures, and supply healthcare providers with access
to shared information. The CAS manages and maintains the accuracy, security, and privacy of electronic- and paper-based medical records and is responsible for ensuring coding diagnoses and procedures, managing data quality, and ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards.
Provides training to system users/new employees. Provides support to staff members in all computer aspects. Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data. Performs related duties as required.
Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug and alcohol screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants must successfully complete a criminal background check.
Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Licensure/Certifications:
None.
Experience:
Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a related operational or program area.
