Nature of Work
This position serves as the primary administrator of the Cooperative Agreement grant and acts as the state’s main point of contact for Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) and Medically Underserved Area/Medically Underserved Population (MUA/MUP) designations. The role is vital in supporting access to healthcare services for underserved communities across West Virginia.
The employee will also be responsible for coordinating and providing support for eight (8) National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and related programs, including:
- NHSC Loan Repayment Program
- NHSC Scholarship Program
- NHSC Student to Service Program
- NHSC Faculty Loan Repayment Program
- NHSC Substance Use Disorder Workforce Loan Repayment Program
- Rural Community Loan Repayment Program
- Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
- Nurse Corps Scholarship Program
This role requires strong administrative, communication, and program coordination skills, and offers the opportunity to impact healthcare access in rural and underserved areas statewide.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.
Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the technical or program area may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one year of experience.
