Nature of Work
The immediate supervisor for this position is the Associate Director. This position provides leadership, technical assistance, and coordination within program areas to enhance the effectiveness of community projects and improve the health status of rural, underserved communities in West Virginia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Seeking and applying for federal grants, as well as providing technical assistance to community partners applying for federal funding.
- Identifying community programs across the state and sharing relevant opportunities with partners.
- Leading communication projects that highlight successes in rural West Virginia.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, laws, policies, and procedures.
- Developing standard operating procedures and overseeing the monitoring, tracking, and reporting of program activities.
- Serving as the lead worker on specific projects and managing the sub-recipient grant process to ensure federal funds are used in alignment with program and federal guidelines.
The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities. Skills in leadership, grant development, networking, negotiation, and community development are highly valued.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
- Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.
- Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the technical or program area may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one year of experience.
Pay: $41,194.00 - $71,789.00 per year
