What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Protective Service Supervisor position at WV Department of Human Services?
General Description: Performs complex supervisory work in the provision of child protective services. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of employees performing child protective services; performs related supervisory functions. Coordinates the work of the unit with inter- and intra-governmental units, community organizations and advocacy groups. Employees are subject to on-call status during non-business hours. Maybe required to deal with situations which are potentially dangerous to client and worker. This position is for the supervision of ongoing CPS cases. May also assist co-supervisor with screening services. Performs related work as required. Mandatory overtime may be required for this position. Applicants must possess a valid WV driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Applicants also must have strong communication skills, a knowledge of policy, law, and procedures regarding all programs and services. Overtime hours and frequent travel may be required. Successful completion of a background check is required for employment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in adult or children's services in a public or private health and human services agency.
Special Requirements: Valid driver’s license. Accessibility to a phone.
