What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services District Manager position at WV Department of Human Services?
General Description:
Under general supervision, the Social Services District Manager will perform complex administrative and professional work by planning, implementing, directing, and reviewing programs, activities and operations within the Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Monroe, and Summers counties child welfare units of CPS and Youth Services. Responsibilities include planning, policy development, direction, coordination, and administration of the operation of multiple units within CPS and Youth Services. Acts as a liaison within Bureau for Social Services with the state and federal partners to facilitate problem resolution of complex matters. Collaborate with community partners, outside agencies, and service providers to assist in services provided to clients. Position located in Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Monroe, and Summers Counties. Employee must be willing to travel to all four offices within all four counties. Employee is subject to being on-call during non-business hours and must be available with access to a telephone. A valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle is required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Six (6) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in a human services related area (such as case work, social work, counseling, child services, and or adult services).
