Responsibilities:
Order Picking:
Review incoming orders and locate items in the warehouse based on pick lists.
Use handheld devices or picking systems to ensure accurate item selection.
Assemble picked items into orders, ensuring proper quantities and quality.
Packaging and Labeling:
Pack selected items securely to prevent damage during transportation.
Attach shipping labels, packing slips, and any necessary documentation to packages.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records by updating the warehouse management system (WMS) with picking information.
Perform regular stock checks to verify inventory accuracy.
Driving and Deliveries:
Operate delivery vehicles, such as vans or trucks, to transport orders to customers or other destinations.
Ensure the safe loading and securing of items in the vehicle to prevent damage during transit.
Plan efficient routes to minimize delivery time and fuel consumption.
Route Optimization:
Use GPS navigation tools and maps to follow designated delivery routes.
Adapt to traffic conditions and road closures to optimize delivery schedules.
Customer Interaction:
Provide positive and professional customer service experience during deliveries.
Obtain customer signatures and confirm delivery details as required.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe and proper functioning.
Report any vehicle issues or malfunctions to supervisors for prompt resolution.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while operating the delivery vehicle.
Follow company policies and guidelines for safe driving practices.
Communication:
Maintain open communication with warehouse supervisors and dispatch to provide updates on delivery progress.
Notify the warehouse team of any delays, issues, or discrepancies related to orders.
Physical Tasks:
Lift and move packages of varying weights and sizes, adhering to proper lifting techniques.
Load and unload items from the delivery vehicle as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to pass/secure a DOT physical to drive company trucks
Must be able to drive truck with airbrakes
Proven experience in warehouse operations, order picking, and driving.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld picking devices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
