The Surgical Technician, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, is responsible for the direct and indirect care and safety of the perioperative patient in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

• Graduate of School of Surgical Technology.
• Surgical Technology Certification required within 12 months of hire.
  
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

• Surgical experience preferred.

• Performs direct and indirect patient care.
• Efficiently functions as a member of the surgical team by demonstrating competence in delivery of care and contributing to departmental efficiency.
• Assures availability of necessary instruments, equipment and supplies prior to cases to ensure efficient operations of department.
• Maintains good interpersonal relationships and communication skills.
• Retrieve supplies from Pyxis supply cabinets and follow patient charging procedure.
