MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Counseling, Education, or related field
- BLS Certification from American Heart Association (prior to students’ arrival on campus)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial aid, student services, or a related area.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations and processes.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Graduate degree in a related field
- 3 years of experience in financial aid or higher education administration
- Nursing program experience
- Experience working with underserved populations
- Provide expert financial aid counseling to students and their families regarding financial aid options, application procedures, and eligibility requirements including complex case management for unique financial situations
- Oversee financial aid counseling strategies and assists students in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Review and process financial aid applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
- Conduct verification of student and parent information as required.
- Determine financial aid eligibility and package awards in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Monitor and facilitate the disbursement of financial aid funds to student accounts.
- Stay current with changes in federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
- Oversee compliance audits and reporting to regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to all legal requirements
- Develop and present workshops and seminars on financial aid literacy and planning for students and families.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial aid strategies that support institutional enrollment goals
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from students, parents, and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Address and resolve financial aid issues and concerns as they arise.
- Monitor trends and policy changes in financial aid regulations, advising leadership on potential institutional impacts
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Utilize student information system to track and manage student financial aid data.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the mission and goals of the student services office.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial aid policies and procedures that align with institutional enrollment and student success goals.
- Analyze financial aid trends and student demographic data to advise senior leadership on financial aid strategies that support institutional objectives.
