Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Care Specialist to join our Sports Medicine team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive and individualized care to sports medicine patients and their families in the inpatient phase of hospitalization and immediate post-discharge in the ambulatory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consults and communicates with clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings in patient evaluations
- Performs succinct comprehensive clinical evaluations and documents findings in medical records
- Facilitates patient discharge by coordinating appropriate services and tests prior to discharge necessary for outpatient follow-up appointments in the clinic (as applicable)
- Develops a comprehensive individualized plan of care for sports medicine patients, which includes teaching, discharge planning, and necessary referrals to other members of the healthcare team as needed
- Identifies unstable or complex sports medicine patient care situations and facilitates appropriate intervention in the clinic and/or hospital setting
- Evaluates sports medicine patients and serves as a coordinator for follow-up procedures and tests in the ambulatory setting (as applicable)
- Assists in the collection of outcome measures (as applicable)
Requirements:
- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing
- BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department
- Acute care, surgical, orthopedics, or sports medicine experience preferred
- Eligible new graduates will be considered
- Bachelor's Degree as Physician Assistant, or Master's Degree as Physician Assistant required
- Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required
- BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department
- Acute care, surgical, orthopedics, or sports medicine experience preferred
- Eligible new graduates will be considered
