West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology seek a Neuroimmunologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) to join our comprehensive academic Multiple Sclerosis program. The candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of neurology and neuroimmunology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows with emphasis on multiple sclerosis and clinical or laboratory investigation.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed neurology residency program as well as neuroimmunology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified /eligible in neurology and neuroimmunology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Clinic provides comprehensive evaluations to accurately diagnose multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system. We tailor our treatment plans with disease-modifying therapies according to every patient’s specific needs and focus not only on preventing new problems from MS with longer term MS treatments, but also on treating MS symptoms so that each person can live their best lives on a day-to-day basis. We also participate in multiple MS research trials, and we are certified by the National MS Society as a Comprehensive MS Care Center.
The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children’s Hospital in September 2022.
