What are the responsibilities and job description for the WVUIC Mechanical Engineering Intern position at WVU Medicine?
The Mechanical Engineer Intern will gain real-world engineering experience working alongside facilities experts designing, analyzing, and modeling existing and new building systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND / OR LICENSURE :
1. Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering Major (Specializing in Building Mechanical Systems).

1. Mentored by a licensed Mechanical Engineering (Professional Engineer) in the State of West Virginia.
2. Experience in :
a. Building Systems Design Engineering and Existing System Modeling.
b. Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Revit.
i. Navisworks will be used for clash detection and creating walkthroughs.
c. Interpretation of Architectural and Mechanical Drawings, Equipment Submittals / Cutsheets.
d. Site Master planning and Executive Engineering.
e. Building Controls.
3. Introduction to live testing / commissioning of building systems.
4. Exposure to Autodesk Revit and other engineering software.
