Duties and Responsibilities
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values.
- Effectively plan and contribute to long and short-term planning of the organization.
- Research, identify and develop new market segments and business opportunities.
- Identify and track specific projects (generally 2-5 years out) within various targeted market segments.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key companies and decision makers within those companies/organizations that initiate projects within our targeted markets.
- Mentor younger staff members.
- As a market segment develops, work to build a team that will be able to take ownership of the market segment and continue to grow work in this area.
- Raise brand awareness for Clyde Companies through increased participation in professional, community, and industry organizations.
- Develop and maintain a business development plan.
- Follow up on all potential project leads; take ownership and management of major project opportunities though to contract.
- Represent Company at trade shows, conferences, professional and civic organizations.
- Contact and communicate to potential clients abilities of company.
- Participate in industry associations and help develop industry standards.
- Provide training and development in project management and engineering.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or construction management.
- 5 years of progressive project management experience.
- 5 years of progressive fiscal accountability in the road construction sector
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills
- Ability to review and analyze financial information
- Strategic thinking skills
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, superior in Excel
- Ability to communicate and interact with wide variety of clients
- Open to directive and collaborative work style
- Superior knowledge of construction means and methods
- Ability to research and communicate federal and state project opportunities
