Description : Full-time job collaborating with Co-CEO of New York-based literary agency Aevitas Creative Management on all aspects of Co-CEO’s work as an agent for Co-CEO’s diverse list of high-profile clients, ranging from award-winning journalists, thought leaders, and historians to celebrated artists in various fields. Three to five years of experience working at a Big Five publisher or independent trade publisher with non-fiction book authors or three to five years of experience working inside a NYC literary agency in an author support and editorial role strongly preferred. Highly developed editorial skills and meaningful experience working directly with authors through every stage of the publishing process required. A full-time editorial assistant supports the efforts of this Editor / Agent and Co-CEO. Ideal position for someone interested in making agenting their career in the future. Must be in NYC. In office minimum three days per week. Salary ($70k-$80k) and title to be determined based on candidates’ experience. Health insurance covered 50% by the company and non-matching 401K; 15 flex vacation, 5.5 sick days annually, summer Fridays, and closed between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree
- Critical thinking and exemplary writing & editing skills a must
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 programs
- 3-5 years experience in an editorial role at a publisher or an agency (with a focus on nonfiction authors)
