About the Role
As the Data Center Operations Team Lead, you will oversee the East Coast Data Center Operations team, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and collaboration. Your team is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and supporting data center infrastructure—including hardware, software, and connectivity—for both internal and external customers, while also managing inventory.
This on-site position is based at our Manassas, VA data center, with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, plus occasional on-call duties.
Reporting to the Data Center Operations Manager, you will directly supervise two engineers in New Jersey, one in Florida, six in Virginia, and one in Illinois. Periodic travel to these data center locations will be required.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Develop: Mentor, coach, and train your team to enhance performance and career growth.
- Team Management: Support hiring, performance evaluations, and development efforts alongside the DC Operations Manager.
- Operations Oversight: Ensure tickets and operational tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on team metrics, projects, and key initiatives.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Foster strong communication and cooperation across departments.
- Process Improvement: Drive innovation and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Project Leadership: Lead and participate in major initiatives such as data center migrations.
- Customer Support: Assist customers within the data center, including those managing their own racks/servers.
- Team Success: Contribute to achieving department goals and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Experience with hardware components (servers, switches, KVM, hard drives, memory, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and project management abilities.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- 1 years of leadership experience, including performance management.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Must be able to obtain a passport within 6 months of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Willingness to complete the Leaseweb Certified Engineer (LCE) certification within 12 months (training provided).
