Report to: Common Pleas Court Judge, All Divisions Civil Service Status:
Court Administrator, All Divisions Unclassified, serves at
Chief Deputy Clerk, Probate Division the pleasure of Judge
Employment status: full-time 40 hours/week as determined by Judge

Job Responsibilities: Assist with the timely and accurate processing of all procedures and documents required of the Wyandot County Probate Division by proper performance of those requirements and by proper performance of duties as assigned and directed by the Chief Deputy Clerk/Judge.
Qualifications: Legal experience preferred. Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities indicated in Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions. An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is:
High School diploma or equivalent, with training and/or experience which evidences an advanced knowledge of office practices and procedures including Word.
Must also be able to become proficient with the Court’s computer system. Must have the ability to file documents and information accurately, to establish a courteous and friendly rapport with the public, to concentrate on task at hand and divert quickly to other tasks and to follow instructions with accuracy and detail.
Essential Functions: The Deputy Clerk must maintain a professional demeanor and is responsible to maintain the confidences of the Court.
Process all filed court documents in all various Probate Court matters including, but not limited to, estates, trusts, guardianships, adoptions, mental illnesses and marriage licenses; issue summons, citations, notices of hearings, commitment papers, assign file/case numbers, schedule hearings, docket cases, receive and file court documents/correspondence, receive cash and issue receipts; and financial bookkeeping as assigned.
Assist with the public in handling telephone, written and personal inquiries; provide counter assistance.
Perform routine office and reception duties, answering telephone, copying, filing, typing, prepare and compile statistics, assist other employees, etc.
Maintain confidentiality in all Probate Court matters. Demonstrate regular and dependable attendance.
