OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
Pack snack food products into cartons and other shipping containers. Perform as a team for efficient changeovers. Pack correct amount of items into cartons with correct packing arrangement, in an efficient manner. Establishes and maintains area of cleanliness to adhere to good manufacturing practices. Responsible for assisting teammates during changeovers to ensure efficient and effective changeovers.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training and contributing in areas assigned.
Checks product for quality.
Removes inferior products from packing area.
Reports in timely manner to area of work assigned.
Verifies packaged items for all requirements as determined by the specifications. Maintain work area to eliminate safety/food safety concerns.
Checks product to ensure that it meets all quality requirements stated by the customer.
Packs product at standardized speeds.
Stacks merchandise neatly and accurately on skids for disposition to the warehouse or staging area.
Utilizes downtime in a productive manner and performs housekeeping and cleaning.
Anticipates needs of materials in order to properly utilize productive time.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
FDA regulated facility
Able to work in a fast paced, non-climate-controlled environment.
Ability to work around forklifts.
Maintain good basic math skills.
Safety shoes and earplugs are mandatory in designated areas.
Elevated and slippery conditions may be present.
Must have the manual skill and dexterity to move and work around heavy machinery throughout the plant.
Must be able to utilize different technology throughout shift, or ability to be trained on equipment.
Able to work well with co-workers and supervision in a team environment.
Able to lift up to 30lbs.
Detailed oriented with extreme accuracy.
Must abide by all plant rules and food safety regulations, including work safety and sanitation rules.
