Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) specializing in Industrial Refrigeration to expand our market footprint and develop long-term client relationships across target industries such as food & beverage, cold storage, pharmaceuticals, and logistics. The ideal candidate brings technical understanding, strong sales acumen, and a strategic mindset to identify opportunities and close deals involving ammonia and CO₂-based refrigeration systems or other large-scale commercial HVAC-R solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Client Acquisition
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and industry events.
Develop a robust pipeline of industrial clients in food processing, cold chain logistics, warehousing, etc.
Sales Strategy & Execution
Create and implement territory plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Conduct site visits, present technical solutions, and prepare persuasive proposals.
Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with company margins and risk policies.
Relationship Management
Build trusted relationships with engineering firms, contractors, facility managers, and procurement teams.
Maintain regular contact with key accounts to foster repeat business and referrals.
Technical Collaboration
Work with internal engineers and project managers to align on technical feasibility, pricing, and timelines.
Stay updated on refrigerant regulations (e.g., EPA, ASHRAE, IIAR) and industry standards.
Reporting & Market Intelligence
Track activities and opportunities in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years of sales or business development experience in industrial refrigeration or mechanical contracting.
Strong knowledge of ammonia, CO₂, and/or Freon-based refrigeration systems.
Proven track record of meeting sales targets in capital equipment or technical solution sales.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience working with design/build contractors or EPC firms.
Familiarity with food safety standards, USDA/FDA compliance, or cleanroom environments.
Membership in IIAR, ASHRAE, RETA, or similar industry organizations.
