Job Summary:
The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves preventive maintenance, system inspections, and emergency response to refrigeration issues in food processing, cold storage, or manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other related components.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in refrigeration systems and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor system performance using control panels, gauges, and computerized monitoring systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and IIAR (International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration) regulations.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns, leaks, and other refrigeration-related issues.
- Maintain proper documentation, including maintenance logs, system reports, and safety records.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment.
- Train and assist other personnel in safe ammonia refrigeration practices.
- Ensure all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are followed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- 2 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration or industrial refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, PSM (Process Safety Management), and RMP (Risk Management Program) regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical components related to refrigeration.
- EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification is a plus.
- RETA (Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association) certification preferred.
- Ability to work in cold environments, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Salary : $100
