Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and talented physician to join our Emergency Medicine Department team. We serve a culturally diverse population with a wide spectrum of medical conditions. As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages who are present in the Emergency Department with any symptom, illness, injury, or condition.
Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate medical attention for patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries in the emergency department (ER).
- Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic tests, to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all patient interactions and treatment protocols.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Stay current with advancements in emergency medicine practices and protocols.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent
- Completion of post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
- Current, unrestricted New York State license.
- Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.
- Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
- Excellent communication, bedside manners and organizational skills
- Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
We offer an attractive salary, paid malpractice, generous paid time off program, CME days plus allowance, retirement benefits and a competitive benefit package. Compensation ranges from $290K to $350K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits) based upon years of experience.
