Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is seeking an exceptional Endocrinology Physician to join its team. We serve a diverse patient population with various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will evaluate, diagnose, and care for patients with diabetes, metabolic diseases, and other endocrine disorders in an outpatient setting with a shared inpatient consultation rotation. This is a full-time position providing services primarily in the outpatient setting but includes shared inpatient consultation responsibilities.
Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. An endocrinologist is a healthcare provider who specializes in diagnosing and treating hormonal imbalances and disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct consultations for patients referred by other physicians or health professionals.
- Treating conditions related to hormones to ensure balance and healthy production.
- Diagnosing endocrine conditions and developing treatment plans.
- Analyzing laboratory tests and diagnostic images to identify hormone imbalances.
- Prescribing medication and hormone therapy as needed.
- Monitor the patient’s condition and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
- Providing education and support to patients about their condition and treatment plan.
- Conduct research to improve current methods of diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders.
- Keeping up to date with the latest medical research in the field of endocrinology.
- Working closely with other healthcare professionals such as dietitians, psychologists, and primary care doctors to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Collect and record patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results. Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
- Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care.
- Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent
- Completion of a U.S.-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine
- Fellowship training in Endocrinology from an accredited institution
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Endocrinology
- Seeking both experienced and newly trained providers
- Must possess a current, unrestricted New York State license.
- Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.
- Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
- BLS or ACLS required.
- Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
- Clinical proficiency in evidence-based medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience working with a community clinic is highly desirable.
- Established leadership skills.
We offer an attractive compensation package that includes RVU, paid malpractice, a generous paid time off program, CME days plus allowance, retirement benefits, and a competitive benefit package. The schedule is Monday – Friday with minimal on-call rotation, by phone only. Compensation ranges from $240K to $300K (not including bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits). Loan forgiveness programs are available based on eligibility. Visa candidates may be considered. New grads are welcome to apply.
