Position Summary: The Food Service Worker position encompasses all the general duties in the Food & Nutrition Services Department.
Job Duties:
- Check daily assignment schedule.
- Review production sheets and menus and assemble food and supplies as needed for daily salad and cold food preparation for patient tray line.
- Following standardized recipes prepares salad mixes and sandwich spreads. Prepares salad plates by portioning out mixes and adding salad vegetables using proper utensils, prepares desserts, juice, garnishes sandwiches and specialty items as directed.

Trained to work all stations on the patient tray line with efficiency and accuracy. Proper portion control of all food items served.

Assist in the setting up of the patient tray line for the meal service.
- Delivery and retrieval of patient trays throughout the hospital include late trays. All contact
with patients and visitors are to be conducted in a professional manner.
- Stripping of patient trays, sort trays, load, operate and unload dishwasher. Stack trays on drying trucks. Bottoms and tops on separate drying truck. Clean patient delivery trucks.
- Sanitation of tray line and cold preparation area including worktables, drawers, utensils, and refrigerators in conjunction with cleaning procedure of the department.

Sanitation of trucks, pot washing/porter.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Performs all other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education and Job-Related: This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-year job-related experience.
Desired (not required) criteria include Flexible Schedule (shift changes). Previous food service or dietetic experience preferred.
