Requirements
* AHA Certifications in BCLS
* FEMA Certifications- ICS 100, 120, 135, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, 5
* Perform all related duties as required by the Chairman of Emergency Medicine, Medical Director, and Hospital Administration.
* Provide orientation, in-service training and Quality Assurance and Improvement of all personnel within in the Department.
* Review and maintain all Electronic Pre-Hospital Care Report (ePCR) generated by the EMS Department.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the EMS Department (EMS), Transportation & Dispatch Center (TDC), Community Training Center (CTC), and Emergency Management (EM).
* Develop and implement policy and procedures for the EMS, TDC, CTC, and EM Departments.
* Recognize the needs and resources required by each department to operate in a fully functional capacity.
* Attend meetings for each department and report as needed.
* Implement a program to continuously assess and monitor the provisions of educational program to improve performance and service provided by the EMS department.
* Prepares and submit required reports to the Chairman of Emergency Medicine, Medical Director, and Hospital Administration.
* Oversee the development and implementation of policy and procedures for EMS, TDC, CTC, and EM.
* Implement departmental action and corrective action as directed by the Chairman of Emergency Medicine, Medical Director, and Hospital Administration.
* Coordinate and integrate services provided by the EMS Department and Emergency Management to divisions and Department within the hospital.
* Provide recommendations to the Chairman of Emergency Medicine, Medical director, CTC, and Hospital Administration to the development of needed services or programs not provided by the medical center.
* Participate in every phase of the administrative process for the EMS, TDC, CTC, and EMT Department through cooperation with the Chairman of Emergency Medicine, Medical Director, and Hospital Administration to ensure the integration of all departments.
* Responsible for product research, inventory control and purchasing for the Emergency Management Department.
* Provide education, classroom, and hands on functional training as it pertains to EMS.
Position Requirements
This position requires a formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years job-related experience. Desired (not required) criteria include - work related experience of at least 5 years is acceptable alternative to a degree and should be combined with the above-mentioned additional certifications. NYS driver’s license, NYS EMT-P #, NYC REMAC #, BCLS, ACLS and PALS certification Knowledge of NYSDOH, NYC REMSCO and all necessary regulatory standards, as it relates to Emergency Medicine, Emergency Management and the 911 System.
