What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technologist position at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center?
- Explains procedures to patients and/or accompanying family member to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
- Position and transfer patients.
- Selects appropriate transducer depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc.
- Conducts scanning procedures using Ultrasound equipment.
- Moves scanner over specific body area, adjust equipment to focus.
- Documents results of tests accurately on worksheet and scans in to PACS
- Reschedules test, if necessary, due to difficulty from bowel gas, etc.
- Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department. Maintains established department policies, procedures.
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostics information and images.
- Uses independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
- Analyses sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician as needed.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patient while they are in the sonographer's care.
- Participates in the maintenance of ACR accreditation.
- Assists Physicians in performing biopsies and proper handling of the specimen.
- Performs all other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
- This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year job-related experience.
- Desired (not required) criteria include: ARDMS Certified or ARDMS eligible after 1 year of graduation.

Hourly Rate: $45.8061 - $58.1660
Days: Sat & Sun Shift: 3pm-11pm
Salary : $46 - $58
