Job Title: ARD Facilitator Exemption Status/Test: Exempt/Professional

Primary Purpose:
The ARD Facilitator, in cooperation with Special Education Administration and Campus
Administration, will coordinate the ARD/IEP process. Cooperatively with campus personnel, ensure programming for students complies with Federal, State, and Local requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in educational assessment
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Administrator Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of specially designed instruction necessary to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
Knowledge of the general curriculum
Knowledge of the availability of resources of the LEA
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to prepare appropriate individual education programs (IEPs)
Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations pertaining to special education
Knowledge of various special education eligibility conditions and the challenges to learning
Experience:
Three years of teaching experience
Experience as Educational Diagnostician or related field preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Serve as the representative of the local education agency at IEP/ARD meetings for assigned campus or campuses.
2. Schedule ARD/IEP meetings and notify parents and appropriate school personnel in compliance with federal/state/district guidelines.
3. Assure all required special education documents are completed and maintained in compliance with federal/state/district policy.
4. Consult with school staff about the implementation of IEPs, appropriate accommodations, modifications, and strategies for learning.
5. Assist the building administration to ensure that the ARD/IEP process and the quality of programs for students with disabilities are in compliance with federal, state, and local policy.
6. Collaborate with administrators, specialists, and case managers to meet compliance timelines for evaluations and ARD/IEP committee meetings.
7. Present staff development training to assigned campuses regarding federal, state, and local policy as it relates to students with disabilities.
8. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy.
9. Follow all district and local campus routines and regulations.
10. Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignments.

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals, and other instructional equipment
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: May require regular heavy lifting (45 pounds or more) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, control behavior through physical restraint, assist non-ambulatory students, and lift and move adaptive equipment; may work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure
