The RoleThe HRMS Intern will play a key role in automating and enhancing the generation of employee-facing statements, reports, and other HR-related outputs at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. This role will focus on implementing code-based solutions to connect to sensitive data sources, apply specific logic, and generate accurate and efficient outputs. The intern will be responsible for the full lifecycle of development, from requirements gathering and technical evaluation to coding, testing, training, and documentation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR technology, data automation, and reporting within a dynamic environment.
What you'll do- Gather requirements from HR, Compensation, and other relevant teams regarding the content, format, and delivery of employee-facing statements, reports, and other data-driven outputs. Determine the most effective and secure solution.
- Business Requirements Documents, README files, user guides
- Develop and implement code to connect to sensitive data sources, apply business logic, and generate the required outputs (e.g., employee statements, reports, etc.).
- Written code and generation of outputs
- Write comprehensive test scripts to validate the accuracy and functionality of the developed code, including unit tests and integration tests.
- UAT scripts
- Strong programming skills in at least one relevant language (e.g., Python, SQL, Java), including experience with data manipulation and database connectivity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with data security and privacy best practices, including experience handling sensitive data.
- Pursuing a graduate degree
- Computer Science, Information Systems, HRIS, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience coding in at least one relevant language (e.g., Python, SQL, Java, etc.). Experience is beyond basic coursework and ideally includes projects building something functional. Comfortable with data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
- Data Manipulation: Experience working with data, including cleaning, transforming, and analyzing it. This could involve using libraries like Pandas (Python), SQL queries, or similar tools in other languages.
- Experience with HR systems and data is a plus.
- Be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Be a rising undergraduate senior or pursuing a graduate degree.
