About the Family :

This family in Tenleytown, D.C. is seeking a nurturing, responsible, and energetic nanny for their two children, ages 5 and 7. The kids are active and love extracurricular activities, and they’re looking for a creative, engaging nanny who can keep up with their busy schedules. The family is looking for a long-term commitment with someone who can help maintain an organized home, take initiative, and plan activities for the children. The children respond best to kindness, respect, and a calm demeanor, so they’re looking for a confident nanny who knows how to manage the kids effectively with warmth and patience.

Responsibilities :

Light housekeeping related to the kids (laundry, tidying up, snack prep)
School pick-up and drop-off (walking or driving)
Plan and engage in activities (e.g., crafts, reading, games)
Help with homework for the 7-year-old
Drive the kids to and from extracurricular activities (family provides car)
Occasional meal prep (e.g., starting dinner)

Qualifications :

Prior childcare experience, especially with elementary-aged children

Creative, playful, and confident in managing kids

Strong initiative and self-sufficiency

Must be punctual, reliable, and a good communicator

A calm, patient demeanor (children do not respond well to harshness)

Must be comfortable driving kids in the family car

Preferred : A candidate with a maximum 30-40 minute commute

Additional Information :

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 1 : 30 PM - 6 : 30 PM, 20 hours per week

Start Date : ASAP

Compensation : $28 / hr (based on experience)

Location : Tenleytown, Washington, D.C.
