JOB SCOPE

As our Material Handler you will safely operate a forklift to move, load, and unload materials, ensuring
efficient and safe material handling. Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, each team member
maintains and enhances the company’s dry mix blending operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Material Handling:
- Picking and staging materials between storage areas and production, in a timely and accurate
manner.
- Assist with inventory control by accurately stacking, retrieving, and organizing materials.
- Loading specified pallets into the Palletizer as needed, to ensure no break in production.
- Removing finished product pallets from multiple production lines and warehousing according to
warehouse designation.
General:
- Operating a variety of industrial equipment, such as forklift, motorized and manual pallet jacks, as
needed based on business needs.
- General warehouse duties include sanitation, required training, and audits outside of core
operations.
o Gather all trash cans located at each pallet station and label station as needed throughout
the shift and at shut down.
o Gather all trash boxes as they are full and process in the compactor as needed throughout
the shift and at shut down.
- Safety Compliance: adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate
personal protective equipment (PPE).
Forklift Inspection: perform regular visual and operational checks and report any issues.
- Quality control: ensure the palletizing process adheres to quality standards, including all food
safety requirements. Monitor for product damage.
- Documentation: complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to material handling
and inventory.
- Communication: communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth
and efficient operations. Participate in team meetings and special projects as required.
- Problem Solving: identify and address potential safety hazards and operational issues.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous forklift experience is required, valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
- Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with barcoding is preferred. Basic computing skills is a plus.
- Physical demands:
o Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and occasionally lift and/or
move over 50 pounds with help.
o Ability to stand for long periods.
o Have excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Vision abilities also include
close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
- Attention to detail: be detail-oriented and able to follow instructions accurately.
- Communication skills: possess good communication skills to interact with team members and
supervisors.
- Teamwork: be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Problem solving skills be able to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
- Safety knowledge: have a strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Basic math skills be able to perform basic math calculations.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
