Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th Grade Math Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of middle school mathematics and be able to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for students. As a 6th Grade Math Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students develop foundational math skills that will set them up for success in higher grades and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach 6th-grade math curriculum, including topics such as fractions, decimals, ratios, algebraic thinking, geometry, and basic statistics.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with state standards and district guidelines.
- Create a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular quizzes, tests, assignments, and classwork.
- Provide individualized support and interventions to students who need extra help.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to create a positive school community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in middle school mathematics.
- Strong knowledge of the 6th-grade math curriculum and state standards.
