Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing to achieve the overall success of property & racing marketing, including strategy implementation, planning, program development and implementation, expense budgeting and processing, and player development. Key marketing functions may include promotions, events, player development, entertainment, players club, hotel booking, and competitor analysis. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for the delivery, monitoring, and continual improvement of guest service and satisfaction along with meeting/exceeding property financial goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development and implementation of property marketing plans.
- Develops marketing programs which successfully achieve the property?s marketing and business/financial goals and are properly aligned with the company, regional, and property brand.
- Closely monitors competitive and industry trends and ensures the property is responding to developments and staying competitive.
- Routinely reaches out to high-end players to develop loyalty and increase property visitation.
- Assists in the setup and review of marketing programs including offers, kiosk promotions, and player tracking system promotions.
- Assists and/or conducts promotional drawings as directed.
- Assists and/or manages special events as directed.
- Manages entertainment schedule and executes performance agreements.
- Maintains stage equipment inventory ensuring all equipment is in working order and reports any missing, damaged, or faulty equipment to the Director of Marketing.
- Assists with coordinating and greeting bus groups.
- Tracks returned mail and updates accounts as necessary.
- Updates and pulls reporting data for competitor analysis, property promotions, and incentives.
- Reviews and distributes on property advertising including posters, TV screens advertisements, and rack cards to ensure proper displaying and relates any issues to Director of Marketing.
- Maintains inventory of players cards and related collateral.
- Helps coordinate marketing support with all other operational departments.
- Helps communicate marketing plans and programs to key departments and team members.
- Assist with planning and preparation of promotions and advertising materials.
- Attend and engage with local chambers of commerce and attend various community meetings to increase exposure and create business relationships for the company.
- Visit and learn operations of other Horse Palace locations and gain working knowledge of all processes and programs used.
- Assist in other Horse Palace locations as directed.
- Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Adheres to all company, state, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
- Light clerical work to include but not limited to; envelope stuffing, filing, faxing and copying.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel to and stay in Rock Springs periodically and during live racing season.
- Must work a flexible schedule including varying shifts and working weekends according to business needs and the marketing plan.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must have an outgoing personality and comfortable meeting with organizations, dignitaries, vendors/businesses, and guests.
- Public speaking experience.
- Ability to acquire a Wyoming Gaming Commission work permit.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Four or more years of customer service experience required.
- Knowledge and experience with marketing facets including advertising, public relations, promotions, etc. required.
- Associate or bachelor?s degree preferred.
- Marketing or Gaming/OTB experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Player Tracking Systems preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds,.
- Have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
