Job Summary:
The PM Lead Security officer is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the OTB and protection of WHR assets in the gaming and non-gaming areas of the OTB. Observes gaming operation for irregular activities such as cheating or theft.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains surveillance of gaming and non-gaming areas as assigned by the security Manager.
- Ensure surveillance operators monitor and record all irregular activities, as requested.
- Reports any illegal activities to the proper authorities.
- Follows all WHR policy and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality and non-disclosure regulations at all times.
- Works closely with security management to provide direct and indirect supervision of staff including scheduling, leave approval, performance evaluations and counseling, training, operational orientation and staff development.
- The PM Lead will maintain the schedule for the security officers by approving or denying requests for time off. Making notations on the schedule of officers who are on PTO and making the entries into TCP as PTO hours. The PM Lead will assure that employees have the PTO hours available and explain to the employee if they will need to use leave without pay. The PM Lead will schedule staff to cover for the employee taking PTO or leave without pay, or staff that have called off sick to the Surveillance Supervisor or Security Manager. This will be done by utilizing other staff to work overtime or the Security Manager to cover if needed. The Security Manager will communicate these needs once the staff member calls off sick according to the employee handbook. The PM Lead will adhere to the minimum staffing level of two security staff including the PM Lead Sunday through Thursday on the PM shift. On Friday and Saturday, the minimum will be three security staff. This includes officers, Leads, or the Security Manager as staffing levels require. The weekly schedule will be posted by Sunday night to reflect the upcoming week Monday through Sunday, so security staff are made aware of the specific scheduled hours. The Surveillance Manager will also access the shared schedule completed by the PM Lead officer and schedule all surveillance staff for the same time frame. A schedule will be posted for security officers in the Surveillance Supervisor, and Security Leads office on the wall.
- Promotes a clean, safe and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Assists in pushing in chairs on the gaming floor and picking up trash off the gaming floor. Promptly reports all concerns to the Surveillance Supervisor or The Security/Surveillance Manager.
- Completes review of Bi-Weekly security/surveillance staff to submit to payroll. After the time for all employees is verified, it will be submitted via TCP by 0800 Monday morning after the pay period ends on Sunday. Once this is completed in TCP the individual timesheets for each employee must be printed and signed by all Security/Surveillance hourly employees. Once all the timesheets from all Security/Surveillance hourly staff are signed they must be scanned and sent to the HR Manager by the Friday after the pay period ends. The signed hard copies of the timesheets will be filed in the tall black cabinet in the Supervisor/Security Leads office in the folder titled ?timesheets?.
- Ensures the operation of equipment, tools and materials are handled in a safe and proper manner.
- Promotes internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
- Complies with regulatory laws, Employee Handbook, department policy and procedures, and safety codes.
- Follow and understand the Standard Operating Procedures for Security.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to use Microsoft office suite programs.
- Ability to perform all duties in accordance with internal policies and procedures as well as the requirements of Wyoming Gaming Commission, Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.
- Read professional publications, industry magazines/ journals, newsletters, and documents.
- Prepare written reports and correspondence to upper management as required. Excellent report writing skills, detail-oriented, proper grammar, and spelling.
- Perform basic mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide into all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.)
- Must have the ability to learn, or possess prior knowledge, of all casino games, as well as casino related department procedures and various Federal, State regulations.
- Conducts investigations into all relevant gaming related activities through the use of Electronic Surveillance systems.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous gaming experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
- Employees must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
