Head Football Coach
Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School has an opening for a Head Football Coach who is dynamic and visionary to lead and elevate our football program at all levels. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of football strategy, player development, and leadership, coupled with a strong commitment to mentoring student-athletes. Through a hands-on approach to leadership, teaching, and mentorship, the Head Coach will encourage student-athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field. This position reports to the Director of Upper School Athletics.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive team culture which is aligned with the mission of the school and the school’s core values.
- Demonstrate and communicate an understanding of the fundamentals, rules, and regulations essential to building a successful football program
- Works with the Athletic Department to hire assistant coaches, schedule games, and coordinate practices
- Communicate regularly and clearly with parents and guardians about team culture, expectations, and schedules
- Collaboratively works with the Director of Athletics and Athletic Department colleagues, Upper School faculty and staff, and the broader school community
- Work closely with athletic training staff and our strength and conditioning coach to ensure that the football student athletes are physically fit and conditioned for the sport of football
- Promote the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes, instilling leadership, discipline, and integrity.
- Support student-athletes in their pursuit of collegiate football opportunities, serving as the primary point of contact for NCAA recruitment, and working collaboratively with the College Counseling Office.
- Assists in maintaining team facilities and equipment
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience coaching and recruiting at a high school, college or university.
- Current certification for CPR, AED, and concussion management.
- Demonstrated athletic leadership experience and strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
- Potential for other campus work on a part-time basis and as needed.
